Charles Jones
Charles was born in Ojai, California and raised in Ventura, California and Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from St. Xavier High School and attended the University of Louisville Speed School, where he studied drafting and electrical engineering. He also attended the University of Kentucky, where he studied landscape architecture and architecture.
Charles has been an integral part of Ballroom East since its inception in 1986. He has been paramount in the decision making and diligent in seeking knowledge of dance and music for both the students and instructors at Ballroom East.

Dancing Career
When he and Linda decided to form a dance partnership in the style of International Standard, little did they know they were on a ten year voyage of dance, winning numerous professional awards and titles.

Teaching and Judging
Charles is now retired from competitive dancing and currently teaches both competitors and non competitors alike and also adjudicates Ballroom competitions. To adjudicate, professional tests must be taken in each category. Charles has received his following certifications which he achieved with “Highest Commendation”:

In recognition of Charles’ dance achievements, his wide array of professional qualifications and his experience as a teacher and coach, the National Dance Council of America has designated him as a ’World Class’ Judge. This designation is given only to very few highly qualified individuals in the USA who can fulfill the high level criteria required for such a designation.
