Let's Get You Dancing

Want to have fun goals for you dancing?
Am/Am competition means two amateurs dancing together.

Dancing can be so much fun not to mention good exercise, as a hobby to do together. We have a number of amateur couples here at Ballroom East who like to take their dancing to another level and dance competitively. Some of the competitive couples are married and some met at Ballroom East and decided to start a partnership. Having the goal of preparing for a competition gives some couples a purpose for their dancing.

How to choose which dances to do in a competition
Our couples usually pick a style of dance that suits them or that they may prefer. Often times we help them select a style if they are unsure what might be best for them.
Private Lessons
We recommend Private lessons for anyone preparing for competition since the techniques necessary for a higher level of dance are not always able to be taught in the Group classes.
How old do you have to be to compete?
When you compete in Ballroom dancing you dance against people the same age as you. The age categories start at six years old and go to eighty and above. It is fair since the competition is always someone who is your peer.
