Purchased in 1986, with the encouragement, inspiration, and passion for ballroom dancing of Dr. Alan Thomas, Ballroom East became a reality.
Instructors Charles Jones and Linda Jackson have been dancing together for over 4 decades. When founding Ballroom East in 1986, Linda had been dancing with Charles for over a decade and both would go on to win championships across the country while offering ballroom dance lessons to the public from their headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.
Linda founded the Ballroom East Dance Studio in 1986. With her professional dance partnership to Charles Jones of over ten years, she went on to becoming the United States Rising Star Champion in International Standard and won numerous awards and titles across the country. Now retired, Linda currently teaches both competitors and non-competitors alike and also adjudicates ballroom competitions.
Charles is a retired ballroom professional who currently teaches both competitors and non-competitors alike and also adjudicates ballroom competitions. At one point in time, together with Linda Jackson, he was the United States Rising Star Champion in International Standard. Coupled with being a finalist in multiple competitions throughout the United States, Charles has received certifications for the highest commendation.
I've been a dancer at Ballroom East since 2008. I started as a complete beginner, but through the dedicated and expert coaching of Linda Jackson and Charles Jones, I went on to compete at the highest levels in the sport. I have found so much joy and fulfillment in my 17 years as a dancer at Ballroom East, and it is all thanks to the environment of learning, passion and fun that Linda and Charles have generated.
